This book began 20 years ago when my oldest children were 1 and 2 years old. We started to "play" school, like I used to when I was a child, only with more purpose. This "play" school was created in such a way that it can be flexible and adaptable to many different circumstances, such as differing ages, objectives, and group sizes. With my own children I used this program as a way to spend some fun time with them, give some structure to our day, and introduce and reinforce the letters and their sounds.

There are over 800 activites collected in this book and organized by letter. Each letter section includes words you can use to generate your own activities. In addition to the activities, each section also includes ideas for animals to talk about, food to use for snacks, places to visit on fieldtrips (or in your imagination), books and stories, and music.
